Wedding Album Bliss by KISS • Columbia Missouri Wedding Photographer

When I first started my wedding business a few years back, I knew that one of the most important things to my couples would be the quality and look of their very own wedding album. I needed an album that made a statement of class and beauty without too many frills, because we all know that today’s frills may be the “woops” moment next wedding season. So after searching high and low, I came across KISS Albums. They have been nothing short of fabulous to work with. I have created quite a few wedding albums in the last year and half and I have heard an abundance of praise from brides and grooms stating how happy they are with their new leather bound book. So, I thought it was high time that I posted a few images of these fantastic albums. Kisses!

It’s summer and while most people are relaxing in the mid day summer sun, for a wedding photographer this time of the year means living by the words of a calendar, little sleep, and an abundance of caffeine! And as much as I love every bit of the craziness, there are some weeks when things just get a bit too much. For instance, this week. Having your phone and computer go down in the same week is not ideal, so to get away from it all I headed to the park with Floyd this afternoon. The park always just seems to slow life down a few notches, lets you take a breath and enjoy the little things, that are not broken . If you need a moment, take a walk at the park. It will do some good! Here’s a picture I took today, yup even while I’m relaxing I’m taking photos. It’s what I do.

A few years ago, I had the great opportunity of being in the first local production of Chicago at The Capital City Players in Jefferson city Missouri. Well due to the popularity of the show Capital City Players decided to bring Chicago back to the stage and although I’m not on the stage for this performance you better believe I’m going to be apart of it. I had some fun photographing the stars of the show with an amazing 1929 Ford Model T this week and wow did we get some smokin’ images. I can’t wait to photograph the actual production, I’m sure it’s going to be fantastic! Tamee and Ben met and fell in love at Hallmark Institute of Photography and I was just lucky enough to witness the beginning of this beautiful relationship as their friend and classmate. We’ve all kept in touch since our graduation a few years ago and although they live all the way out in San Fransisco, when I found out they were engaged and their wedding would only be a mere 3 hours from Columbia, I was estatic! So after almost three years full of weddings behind the camera, I finally attended a wedding as a guest. Of course I brought along my little cybershot to snap a few photos during the wedding, I mean it is what I love to do. But I did manage to set the camera down and enjoy the joining of these two amazing people in one beautiful ceremony. Congratulations Tamee and Ben, love you both!

How stunning is this girl? I mean honestly, Ben, you are one lucky guy!

Oh where do I begin on this post, let’s start with my Mom, well she’s my best friend plain and simple. I would not be where I am today without the love and support she has shown me throughout the years! She’s one amazing woman and I honestly don’t know how she has the time to fill the roles she tends to every single day. Since those days when boys were icky, I have looked to my Mom for advice, and although she hasn’t always had much to say which had the tendency to frustrate me, she was there and she knew I could figure things out myself and it would only make me a stronger person. Mom’s are smart like that if you haven’t figured that one out. So thanks again Mom for being there for me throughout the years and always being that one person I can go to, you know my best friend.

After the random bout of snow that mother nature decided to send us this past weekend, it looks as if Spring is back. And with the new hope of warm weather and sunny days, I have decided to hold a Children’s Lifestyle Portrait Mini Session Weekend. May 15th and 16th I will book around five or six 30 minute sessions. The sessions can be held in your home or on location, park or downtown city setting, it’s completely up to you. These sessions are perfect for updating photos of your little one and the brag book that comes along with the session makes for a fantastic keepsake album! Along with your session you will recieve 10% off any additional A La Carte items!

Matrimony Monday • Missouri Wedding Photographer

Well now that the holidays have come to a close all those wonderful men out there who decided to pop the question are now left with a new fiance more excited than ever to begin planning their big day! Today, the first Monday of the year, is considered Matrimony Monday, or the day when all the new found brides begin searching the websites looking for the perfect wedding venue or that “it” dress.

Well for all the brides that stumble upon my blog today, thanks for stopping by, and I would like to post a few helpful question and answers that you may have on your wedding photographer hunt.

• What is your style of photography? I would say I lean toward the lifestyle wedding photographer. I became a photographer because I enjoy the beauty I find through moments in life. I find that most in the moments between people. I love catching people in those moments when they are least likely to even realize that anyone else is around! My goal at the end of the day is for you to be able to look back on your images and relive every minute, the laughter, the joy and the love.

• Do you shoot in color, black & white, or both? I shoot in digital color. After the wedding I will upload the images, narrow down the top photos and from there apply different color and black and white tones. I provide the majority of shots in color but certain scenes may be best in black and white. However if you do have a preference for black and white images I would be happy to provide you with the majority of black and white images from your day.

•Will you be the photographer at my event ? Yes m’am! I like to focus my business on personal attention and you can be sure that I, personally, will be shooting your wedding. I also do all the design and post production on albums and images from the wedding so all of the creative aspects of your photography package will be personally handled by moi.

•What is your booking policy ? A signed contract and a deposit of 500.00 is required to reserve the day of your wedding. Due to the nature of the business the deposit is non-refundable. •Do you travel for weddings? I do travel, actually I love to travel! If you are planning a destination wedding feel free to visit the Contact page and send me your information to receive a custom quote. Otherwise I do have set travel fees for all weddings within the state of MO.
